Quality stroke screening programs are statistically proven to help save lives, and are readily accessible at an affordable price, here at Zion Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Stroke Screenings consists of:

Stroke Screening - Ultrasound is used to create images of the carotid arteries in the neck to identify blockages that might lead to a stroke.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening (AAA) - This type of screening searches for abnormal bulging in the wall of the main artery of the abdomen. Abnormal bulging may lead to a rupture if not detected and treated. Under 40% of people survive a ruptured aneurysm, so it is very important to detect this as early as possible.

Atrial Fibrillation - A limited ECG (rhythm strip) is performed to recognize an abnormal heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation. The risk of stroke increases multiple times for those people with atrial fibrillation.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) - This screening looks for blockage in leg arteries that might cause discomfort in the legs and could lead to required amputation. Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) affects around 8 million Americans and is related to significant morbidity and mortality.

These screenings should be repeated every 1-2 years and Individual screenings are also accessible upon request. Please contact us to schedule your stroke screening appointment.
